Tai Lin

Tai Lin is the Managing Partner of Proterra Investment Partners Asia (“Proterra Asia”), a private equity fund focused on investing in the food & agri-sectors across Asia. He has 22 years of experience in private equity and investment banking. Before Proterra, Tai served as a Managing Director at Black River Asset Management, Cargill’s fund management subsidiary and Proterra’s predecessor. Tai started his career as an investment banker in London, Hong Kong, and New York, mostly with Credit Suisse First Boston.

Tai is based in Singapore and has played a pivotal role in developing Proterra’s Asia platform, supporting entrepreneurs and management teams across the Asian food sector. He is also a member of the Investment Committees of both Proterra Asia and the global Proterra Investment Partners platform. Tai holds and has held numerous board directorships in food companies across Asian countries. Tai holds a Master’s Degree in Economics & Finance from the Vienna University of Economics in Austria and is a CFA Charterholder. He is fluent in English, Mandarin, and German.
